Apartment To-Do List

For now, B and I share a small, 800 square foot apartment. I have lived here since 2011 and he moved in when we got married in August 0f 2012. Although we have basic furniture, the place still doesn't feel like home. I started this list of updates shortly after we were married, so that's why you will see that some of the items are already crossed off. I hope to turn each item into a blog post as I complete it. Most of these pictures are also super outdated. I've got some catching up to do!

FRONT ENTRY

• Update welcome mat
• Create a wreath for front door

LIVING ROOM

 

• Refinish goodwill dresser and turn into a buffet table
• Replace balcony door blinds with window film
• Add table lamps (2) to buffet table
• Revamp lampshades
• Paint "RUSSELL" letters white and gold
• Add entryway mirror and photo collage

BALCONY

• Get a set of porch rocking chairs
• Add hanging plants and flowers
• Get outdoor coffee table (wicker or wooden)

BEDROOM

• Purchase master bedroom suite
• Get 2 nightstands (from Goodwill/Craigslist) to refinish
• Blow up wedding photo on canvas over headboard
• Hang bedroom curtains
• Create clothing storage
• Create jewelry storage

 OFFICE/DEN

• Purchase two bookshelves for storage
• Hang wall art (from mother-in-law)
• Add floating shelves over desk area
• Hang curtains
• Create storage solution over desk area













BATHROOM

 

• Add floating shelf storage over toilet
• Organize guest supplies on a tray
• Organize items in cabinet under sink
• Create hotel bathroom ambiance

LAUNDRY/UTILITY ROOM

• Get washer and dryer
• Organize into functional coat closet/linen closet/storage room
